Midwives value communication and developing a trusting, working relationship with the women and families they serve. In the course of developing that relationship, midwives provide personalized and thorough care at many levels: preconception, pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and beyond.

Althea is a Certified Professional Midwife serving Northern Colorado and it’s surrounding communities. Her career began in 2009 as a certified birth and postpartum doula, doula trainer, owner and herb specialist of Mother’s Life Tea. In January of 2017, Althea became a Certified Professional Midwife (C.P.M.). By attending over 250 births in her career span, Althea is equipped with the knowledge & skill set to provide your family with an optimal home birth experience and postpartum care.

What Is A Homebirth Midwife?

A midwife is a person who has successfully completed a midwifery education program that is duly recognized in the country where it is located and that is based on the ICM Essential Competencies for Basic Midwifery Practice and the framework of the ICM Global Standards for Midwifery Education; who has acquired the requisite qualifications to be registered and/or legally licensed to practice midwifery and use the title ‘midwife’; and who demonstrates competency in the practice of midwifery.
